Description

SUMMARY, EXPLANATION AND LIMITATIONS:
Terminal Deoxyribonucleotidyl Transferase (TdT) is a DNA polymerase located in the cell nucleus which catalyses the polymerization of deoxynucleotides at the 3’ hydroxyl ends of oligo or polydeoxynucleotide initiators and can function without a template.

Clone: SEN28
Isotype: IgG2a
Immunogen: Recombinant peptide corresponding to the N-terminus of human TdT.
Staining pattern: Nuclear.
Positive control: Tissue sample from bone marrow, thymus or lymphoblastic lymphoma.

APPLICATIONS:
This antibody is designed for the specific localization of human TdT using IHC techniques in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
TdT is expressed on the bone marrow and thymus T and B lymphocyte precursors. In addition to identifying TdT positive cells on cells population in primary and secondary lymphoid organs during the maturation of the immune system, it is possible to detect highs levels of enzyme activity in marrow bone and lymphocytes in some leukemias. TdT is considered a highly specific marker for diagnose and classify leukemias and lymphoblastic and acute lymphomas. The determination of TdT expression is most valuable when it is different to differentiate histologically between lymphoblastic lymphoma and Burkitt’s lymphoma. Also is useful to make a differential diagnosis between lymphoblastic lymphoma and other lymphomas.
