Manufacturer: Gennova

Terminal Deoxyribonucleotidyl Transferase (TdT) is a DNA polymerase located in the cell nucleus which catalyses the polymerization of deoxynucleotides at the 3’ hydroxyl ends of oligo or polydeoxynucleotide initiators and functions without a template.

Isotype: IgG.
Immunogen: N/A.
Staining pattern: Nuclear.
Positive control: Tissue sample from thymus.

This antibody is designed for the specific localization of human TdT using IHC techniques in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. TdT is expressed on the bone marrow and thymus T and B lymphocyte precursors. In addition to identifying TdT postitive cells on cells population in primary and secondary lymphoid organs during the maturation of the immune system, it is possible to detect highs levels of enzyme activity in marrow bone and lymphocytes in some leukemias. TdT is considered a highly specific marker for diagnose and classify leukemias and lymphoblastic and acute lymphomas. The determination of TdT expression is most valuable when it is different to differentiate histologically between lymphoblastic lymphoma and Burkitt’s lymphoma.
