C3 molecule consists of two polypeptide chains (alpha 115 kDa and beta 75 kDa) and is present in the serum, generally at a concentration of 1 to 2 mg/L. This is the protein of the complement system rotating center being on the route both classical and alternative route of complement activation. Is cleaved by the convertase C4b2a of the classical pathway and the alternate route C3bBb in C3a and C3b. C3c, with iC3b and C3dg, is formed as a result of the inactivation of Factor I and various cofactors. C3 fragment is removed by phagocytic cells of the liver.

Isotype: IgG
Immunogen: C3c isolated from human serum.
Staining pattern: Secreted.
Positive control: Tissue sample from kidney or tonsil.

This antibody is designed for the specific localization of human C3c using IHC techniques in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
It is useful in studies of the activation of the complement system.
